Tryks is an app developed by Daniel Cavalcante so that you can organise and learn from public videos on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
For the purposes of data protection law — including the LGPD (Law 13.709/2018, Brazil) and the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) — the controller of the little data that is processed is Daniel Cavalcante, an independent developer, a natural person, established in Brazil. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed: the processing is minimal, there is no sensitive data, there is no systematic monitoring, and the contact below answers directly.
For any question, request or complaint about this policy, write to privacy@tryks.app. We reply within 15 days.
No usage data. Tryks does not collect, transmit or store outside your device any personal information, identifiers, location, contacts, telemetry, usage data or browsing logs. Tryks does not run advertising of its own and uses no trackers for advertising, usage profiling or attribution.
Exception: subscribing to the paid version (Tryks Pro) involves the processing of subscription data — see section 5.
The app stores locally, in an SQLite database in the app's own private storage:
This data never leaves your device, except when you voluntarily export it through the backup feature (Settings → Backup). In that case the resulting file is under your control: you decide whether to share it, save it to your personal cloud, send it to a friend, and so on.
Tryks offers a paid version, Tryks Pro, taken out as an auto-renewing subscription (12-month and 6-month plans). The commercial rules — renewal, cancellation and refunds — are in the Terms of Use, section 5. From a data point of view, when you subscribe:
See the privacy policies of these services:
Videos are shown by the official Instagram, YouTube and TikTok players (via WebView). When you watch a video inside Tryks, those services may collect data of their own, under their respective privacy policies:
Tryks has no access to, control over or visibility of the data that Instagram, YouTube and TikTok may collect while showing their own content.
Tryks is not directed at children and is intended for people aged 13 or over. We collect no usage data from any user and we do not ask for age, name or email; the only data processed is subscription data (section 5), through the official store and RevenueCat. If you are responsible for a child and believe they have used the app, note that there is nothing in our systems to delete — the data is on the device, and can be removed in Settings → Backup → Delete everything or by uninstalling the app.
The content shown comes from the video platforms and is chosen by whoever uses the app; it is neither filtered nor rated by us, and follows each platform's own rules.
Tryks keeps no servers of its own, and the data that stays on your device is not transmitted by us. Purchase data is processed by the official store and by RevenueCat on their own systems, under their policies. The security of the data on your device depends on the protections of the operating system itself (PIN, biometrics, device encryption).
Legal basis. The only processing we carry out is that of the subscription, and it rests on the performance of the contract you enter into when you subscribe to Tryks Pro (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; Art. 7, V, LGPD) — without it there is no way to know whether your subscription is active and to unlock the paid features. We do not rely on consent for advertising or on legitimate interests for profiling, because we do neither. Reading the clipboard (section 4) does not amount to processing by us: nothing that is read leaves your device.
For how long. The app's data stays on your device for as long as you want — we have no copy and cannot delete it for you. Subscription data is kept by the store and by RevenueCat for as long as is necessary to perform the contract and to meet the tax and accounting obligations that apply to them, under each one's policies.
International transfers. RevenueCat and the stores (Google, Apple) are companies established in the United States and may process data outside your country, including outside Brazil and the European Economic Area. That transfer is necessary for the performance of the subscription contract and relies on the mechanisms each of those providers adopts (such as standard contractual clauses) — see their policies, linked in section 5. We ourselves keep no servers and transfer data nowhere.
Local data: since it stays on your device, you control it directly and do not have to ask anyone for anything. You can access it and take it with you at any time by exporting the backup (Settings → Backup → Export), which produces a readable, importable file — that is your data portability. To delete everything, use Settings → Backup → Delete everything or uninstall the app, which removes the local database along with it.
Subscription data: you have the rights provided for by the LGPD and, if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, by the GDPR — confirmation and access, rectification, anonymisation or erasure, portability, information about sharing, and objection. As that data is processed by the store and by RevenueCat, a request reaches its destination faster if addressed to them; but you can write to us at privacy@tryks.app and we will pass it on and follow it up.
Complaining to an authority. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the data protection authority of your country — in Brazil, the ANPD (gov.br/anpd); in the European Union, the authority of your Member State; in the United Kingdom, the ICO. You do not have to talk to us first.
Security incidents. As we keep no servers and no copy of your data, a breach on our side is unlikely by design. Should an incident nevertheless occur that may pose a risk to you, we will notify users and the competent authority without undue delay, within the deadlines required by the applicable law.
Should this policy change in the future, the new version will be published at this same URL, with the update date at the top revised. Material changes — in particular any new collection of data — will be announced inside the app or in the version description in the store at least 30 days in advance, and the new collection only begins after your explicit consent.
