Privacy Policy — Tryks

    Summary: Tryks is a local-first app — your data stays on your device.
    We have no server of our own, we don't require a login, we don't collect your usage data, and we
    don't show ads. The only exception is the processing of your purchase data, if
    you buy Tryks Pro (see section 5).
  

1. Who we are

Tryks is an app developed by Daniel Cavalcante to help you organize and learn from public videos on Instagram and YouTube.

2. What data the app collects

No usage data. Tryks does not collect, transmit, or store outside your device any personal information, identifiers, location, contacts, telemetry, usage data, or browsing logs. The app does not show ads and does not use advertising or usage-profiling trackers.

Exception: purchasing the paid version (Tryks Pro) involves processing purchase data — see section 5.

3. What data stays on your device

The app stores locally, in an SQLite database in the app's own private storage:

The links (URLs) of the videos you add;
Descriptions, notes, tags, and collections you create;
Your learning progress (status, favorites, difficulty);
Public video information — title, description, and the author's name/profile — shown by the platforms themselves, used to credit creators;
Cached video thumbnails (so they don't need to be loaded again).

This data never leaves your device, except when you voluntarily export it via the backup function (Settings → Data). In that case, the generated file is under your control: you decide whether to share it, save it to your personal cloud, send it to a friend, and so on.

4. Permissions requested

Internet: to load Instagram and YouTube videos inside the app — the same public content you'd see in a browser.
Receiving a shared link: so you can use "Share → Tryks" from other apps.
Saving and opening files: only to export and import your backup, in the file you choose, when you request it.

5. In-app purchases (Tryks Pro)

Tryks offers a paid version, Tryks Pro, available as a one-time purchase. When you buy:

Payment is processed by the official store (Google Play on Android, App Store on iOS). Tryks does not have access to your financial data (such as your card number).
To validate and manage the purchase — including allowing you to restore it on another device — we use the RevenueCat service, which processes purchase data (such as the product identifier and date) and an anonymous identifier generated by the app. This data also produces aggregate sales statistics (for example, conversions), without identifying you personally.
Tryks does not link the purchase to your name and does not collect personally identifiable data for this purpose.

6. Third-party content

Videos are shown by the official Instagram and YouTube players (via WebView). When you watch a video inside Tryks, these services may collect their own data, according to their respective privacy policies:

Tryks has no access to, control over, or visibility into the data that Instagram and YouTube may collect while they display their own content.

7. Children

Tryks is not directed at children. The app does not collect usage data from any user; the only data processed is purchase data (section 5), through the official store and RevenueCat.

8. Security

Tryks does not maintain any servers of its own, and the data that stays on your device is not transmitted by us. Purchase data is processed by the official store and RevenueCat in their own systems, according to their policies. The security of the data that stays on your device depends on your operating system's own protections (PIN, biometrics, device encryption).

9. Your rights

Local data: since it stays on your device, you control it directly. To delete it, use the "Delete everything" option in Settings → Data, or uninstall the app (which removes the local database with it).

Purchase data: since it is processed by the official store and RevenueCat, requests about it may be directed to those services. You may also contact us at the email below.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in the future, the new version will be published at this same URL, with the updated date at the top.
